On a weekly basis we have individuals looking for chairs that are ergonomic and at a budget-friendly price.  A new name brand ergonomic chair can cost anywhere from $500 and up.  Carolina Office Xchange has a wide variety of name brand ergonomic chairs like the Steelcase “Think” chair, Herman Miller Aeron chair and Bodybilt chairs by ergoGenesis for half the price of a new one.  We have had several customers stop by our showroom and “test drive” the chairs and ultimately end up purchasing the chair on the spot.  Others, who have done their research online, purchase the chairs by emailing or calling us and we ship the chairs out nationwide.

A local firm recently upgraded their conference room chairs to used ergonomic chairs as they often have meetings that last for several hours and want their employees and guests to be comfortable.  The chairs featured a mesh back for breathability, adjustable arms, pneumatic height adjustment, and water fall seat edge and seat slide.

We also assist our customers in converting their existing spaces to be more ergonomic.  This is an easy way to help keep costs down, but still maintain a healthy workspace.  Each employee is able to choose whether to add keyboard trays and/or monitor arms.  Keyboard trays and monitor arms are easy to remove and reinstall on different workstations, so if the employee moves or leaves the company, the product can be reused.

Another local company in Durham, NC purchased used cubicles from us, and one employee preferred to work with the option of sitting or standing at his desk.  Through purchasing used workstations, the company kept their costs down and used the opportunity to purchase the adjustable height work surface frame to meet the individual’s needs.   The customer purchased the frame and our installers took the existing work surface and attached it to the adjustable height frame to create an adjustable height surface.  This maintained a cohesive, clean look throughout the office, but still helped personalize the workstation. The frame adjusts in height with just the push of a button and the only requirement is a basic outlet to power the frame.

We have a sample adjustable height work surface in our showroom for customers to come try out.  The adjustable range is normally from 21″ high to 53″high, accommodating all heights.  We can also deliver a sample to the customer.  Currently one of our customers has a height adjustable table that they are letting employees test drive, to see whether or not they would benefit from having one in their cubicle or private office.
